Well this is the first time I post something here that is not music or motorcycle related! But I came over this wonderful video by a photographer named Joe Capra on facebook. He came to Iceland this summer and took some amazing pictures and this video. It really shows what Icelandic nature is all about! And like he says; You MUST visit Iceland sometime during your lifetime. You will never regret it!
Well I copy-pasted his own description of his trip and photos, as I think he describes it very well:

Midnight Sun: A natural phenomenon occurring in the summer months north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle where the sun never fully sets and remains visible 24 hours a day.
This short time lapse film was shot during the Icelandic Midnight Sun in June of 2011.
For 17 days I traveled solo around the entire island shooting almost 24 hours, sleeping in the car, and eating whenever I had the time. During my days shooting this film I shot 38,000 images, traveled some 2900 miles, and saw some of the most amazing, beautiful, and indescribable landscapes on the planet. Iceland is absolutely one of the most beautiful and unusual places you could ever imagine. Especially during the Midnight Sun when the quality of light hitting the landscape is very unusual, and very spectacular.
Iceland is a landscape photographers paradise and playground, and should be number 1 on every photographers must visit list. Iceland during the Midnight Sun is in sort of a permanent state of sunset. The sun never full sets and travels horizontally across the horizon throughout the night, as can be seen in the opening shot and at the :51 second mark in the video.
During the Arctic summer, sunset was at midnight and sunrise was at 3am. The Arctic summer sun provided 24 hours a day of light, with as much as 6 hours daily of "Golden light". Once the sun had set it wouldn't even get dark enough for the stars to come out, and they don't start to reappear until August.
My advice to everyone out there, photographer or not, is simple... You MUST visit Iceland sometime during your lifetime. You will never regret it.

Icelandic Enduro..

The past summer I have been back and forth between Iceland & Norway trying to tie up some loose ends, fixing my house before I rent it out, trying to get some money from the insurance company and generally short things out after the fire in my workshop. For the first time in years I haven't been riding Harleys this summer and I haven´t been to any rallies or any kind of biker-related things. Instead I have been riding my Enduro bike here in Iceland. I think that Iceland is one of the best places in the world to ride Enduro & off road bikes! Here is a little collection of snapshots taken this summer & fall. The pictures that look as they are taken on the moon ;) are from a lava desert near the volcano Hekla here in Iceland. A super cool riding area with endless hills and lava sand as far as you can see. Other pictures are taken on small daytrips around the Reykjavik area. To mount Skálafell that has the ski slopes I used to blast down as a kid. Due to lack of snow the resort hasn’t been in use for many years now. That’s global warming for all you suckers who believe in that nonsense. Natural weather cycles we call it here in Iceland… Well those photos I took just a few days ago on a trip I like to call the two season trip.. With icy & snowy mountain tops & nice autumn weather and colors down in the valley.. Well the rest of the pictures speak for them self..

Dimma is an Icelandic Rock band that I like alot! Their guitar player, named Ingólfur, is actually a professional magician.. I saw them live in Reykjavík Icleand last june with a new singer (not the one singing in this video). Was a bit skeptic since I kind of like the old singer. But the new frontman was not bad at all and the band Rocks!! Enjoy the Masterplan...

I´v been going through some pictures on my computer from a few years back. I found these from a Hillclimb competition held in the town Trondheim in Norway. The year is 2004 and the event is an annual event that is arranged by a local motorcycle club called Riggen MC. The weekend is called "Trondheim Race Weekend" as there is some street drags as well the same weekend. The one shot I got where the bike is flying towards me, was captured as me, and many others, were running away from the flying bike. Not all of us got away from the bike and it landed on a young boy in the crowd. He broke his leg when the bike hit him. He was strong in spirit and a thought it was cool to see the bike fly trough the air before the it hit him, even tough his broken leg hurt like hell.

Every Tuesday evening during the summer the Icelandic Harley-Davidson Club (H-DC ICE) has a club meeting at a place called The Motor Factory in Reykjavik Iceland. Here they can have a cup of coffee and talk bikes all night long. If the weather is good they usually take a ride together in the evening sun.. One club that always shows up at the meetings is Hrafnar MC (Ravens MC in english) They have high morals, and even higher bars on their bikes ;o) Snapped a few shots of them last time I was at the meeting..

This is what happened when I came back to Norway for the Easter holiday.. (been back living in Iceland since xmas) My workshop gone! With 3 Panheads & one Sporty, loads of tools, parts, 3000+ motorcycle magazines from the 60s until now (Old street chopper, MCM etc..), a Ludwig Super Classic drum kit, all my riding gear and so and so on ;o( I have insurance (for what that is worth..) But want to remind you all that you should have a fire alarm of some kind where you keep your most precious belongings! I sure regret that I didn't!! Life sometimes sucks!!!

Moving back to Iceland has not been as easy as I thought.. The economy here sucks and the country is infected with corruption and greed. But the good part is that I now have a toy to play with ;) Got my hands on a almost unused 2008 Husaberg FE450. The bike had 1400 km (about 875 miles) on the clock and for the looks of it only on pavement.. I haven´t had the chance to use it as much as I want because of the snow we had the weeks after I bought it. Therefore I use every chance I get to go riding, now when the snow is gone. Last Sunday I went for a little ride, the weather was ok at first, a bit windy but nothing to worry about (I thought).. All of a sudden the wind got stronger and on two occasions the wind blew me and the bike over. I went on and managed to get to my parents house before the storm hit with full strength. The wind was so strong that 8 airplanes (with about 1000 people inside) where stuck on the runway at Keflavik Airport for 5 hours because they could not park at the terminal or open the doors on the planes due to the strong winds.

This summer I went to Iceland for my vacation. When there I borrowed my twin brothers KTM 525EXC. I explored some of the old routes we used to ride on back in the day. Many of those routes are used by horse riding people. That sunny summer day there wasn’t a horse in sight! Strange.. Later I found out that most of the Icelandic horses were locked in their stables because they had the horse flue! Well I had a blast riding on old grounds and almost managed to trash both myself and the bike hitting a chain stretched across one of the roads.. It wasn’t there back then!! It all went well and I had to buy a new riding jacket for my brother…

Thank god it’s Friday! After a busy week it’s about time to relax and look through some pictures from yesterdayz gone by! This time around I found some pictures from a small motorcycle rally in Iceland in 1994. There where maybe 20 people attending the rally but we still managed to have a good time!

This was probably the first time I met one of Iceland most dedicated biker Heiddi. He was one of few people who had a Harley that wasn’t an old police bike. We all looked up to him and admired his biker lifestyle.. Sadly he passed away in an accident riding his Buell on his way home from a motorcycle rally on the 2^nd of July 2006. RIP!

One of my favorite events each year is the annual Wings & Wheels in Lunde, Telemark here in Norway. This time around I went on Saturday to catch up with my friends who were already there..
The weather was perfect and the feeling was good.. The party was, as usual, lots of fun.. On our way home we drove on some winding back roads I have never been on before and the landscape was breathtaking! Great riding experience with good friends.. What more can a man ask for?? (well we all know the answer to that one.. But we were pretty damn close!! ;-)

Well now it’s riding season here in Norway and I don’t use much time in front of the computer screen :o) I have traded my trusty old Sporty with yet another Panhead.. This time it’s a Scandinavian style chopper with 16” over Springer front end, just enough stretch & rake, suicide clutch, jockey shift, and a 15” car tire in the back! A fun bike to ride, but it was strange letting go of the old Sporty that has been with me for the past 15 years! But life goes on and Panhead is what makes my heart pound these days! Went on a little trip to Ski in Vestfold here in Norway with my chop. Drove past the remains from the big forest fire two years ago in Froland. Nature has its way, but recovery takes time..

Norway Run..

In 2008 Harley-Davidson Owners Club Norway arranged a road trip called ”Norway Run”. The trip started at Lindesnes which is the southernmost part of Norway. The route went from there along the west coast of Norway and all the way up to the Harley gathering “Run to the Arctic Fun” in Storfjord Troms. Twenty something bikes started the trip and on our way almost 40 more joined the group. Me and Peggy drove the whole way and on the returning trip we visited Vesterålen, Lofoten and took the coast road from Bodø to Namsos.. Look it up if you don’t know what I’m talking about ;o) In other words, some of the most beautiful roads in Norway! The whole trip was over 4000 mile (6500km) long. A recommended trip which I would gladly do again ;-) Pictures of some of the rides participating in the Run and and some of the scenery.. Enjoy!

In the end of May 2009 I went on a little road trip. The goal was to get to the annual Bike Fest in Trondheim and Oslo Open in the capitol of Norway Oslo! The events where held the same weekend, that is Bike Fest on Saturday and Oslo Open on Sunday. I arrived in Trondheim on Friday evening (which is about 1000km or 621 miles from my home) and attended the Bike fest on Saturday and then drove to Oslo on Saturday evening (which is about 550km or 342 miles) Enjoyed the Oslo Open bike gathering and the Norwegian Championship of Custom Bike Building, and then drove home on Sunday evening.. A trip to remember with loads of cool bikes, interesting people and many nice hours in the saddle ;o)

In Iceland there is a long tradition in building 4x4 cars! The most known concept is “Arctic Trucks” which actually is a company specializing in rebuilding Toyota jeeps and pick-ups. The tradition in changing other kinds of cars is much older and goes way back to the seventies. Back then there were mostly US cars people chose. Now days they rebuild almost any kind of car from any country. And they use them to get in to the back country and on to the glaciers. For the past two, three years Lamb of God has been one of my favorite bands! Last Wednesday I saw them live for the first time! They didn’t disappoint me at all! One of the best bands in Metal ever if you ask me! Not as many people at Centrum Scene in Oslo as there where at the Download Festival in England! I personally think it’s much more fun to see a band like Lamb Of God in a small theater with only 1500 people, than in a huge arena or at a festival with 10 or even 100 times more spectators! A great experience that that I can strongly recommend ;o)

This weekend I have been busy in the garage. My good friend Benn Peter came to visit and we did some finishing touches on his Sporty Bobber. I welded the exhaust (again) and he did some gas tank repair. We also did some serious drinking on Friday night which included some fine Cognac from a guy named “Hardy” and some Norwegian booze called “Gammel (dirty) Oppland” Akevitt ;o) On Saturday my buddy Helge dropped in for a few hours to work on his Panhead chopper. The pictures are taken with Benn’s unique photo setup. There is no Photoshop effects used to get the pictures this way only a digital Canon camera and a 60 year old Kodak camera!! ATV Racing..

In the early 90s me and my twin brother started racing our ATV’s in the Icelandic Championship series. Well actually we started the series by convincing the Motocross championship comity to let us compete on the MX tracks. The events in those days where not sponsored and the level of security and other things where at minimum ;o) But it was fun and I can’t recall any accidents during this period. After a few years of racing most of the guys went riding off-road or MX bikes and the ATV series was dropped! A great period in our lives with many great people and lots of fun both on and off track!

Blood Red Throne from Kristansand her in Norway is one of the best Death Metal bands around. The guys are amazing artists and musicians! I went to see them for the first time in December 2009 and they blew me away! The band has been around for some 10 odd years now and they have 5 full studio albums out. The last one called “Souls Of Damnation” is an awesome album that every death metal fan with self respect should have in his or hers collection!

Today I got a visit from two of my off-road riding buddies from Kristiansand.
They had converted their bikes in to snow-machines with belt and ski kit from Explorer. I was sceptic as usual and didn’t think this was any good! Well, as it turns out the converted bikes where a blast to ride and I haven’t had so much fun riding off-road bikes during winter in a long time… The Ski-Doo (snowmobile) didn’t stand a chance in the deep snow and the bikes handled amazingly easy with the conversion kit. I want one to! ;o)

I can’t say that I like everything the Harley factory is making these days! Many of the new Harleys are ugly as hell (the Rocker-C for instance is one of the ugliest bikes on the market today;o) But once in awhile the designers at H-D come up with something cool. And this time it’s a Sporty. I have always been a Sportster fan, and I was very disappointed when H-D decided to put rubber mounts on the Sportster engine and at the same time making the bike almost as heavy as a big twin! Anyhow I have to admit that the new Forty-Eight is one of the nicest looking Sportys to ever come out of the factory. It still has the bullshit rubber mount on the engine (which in my opinion takes away the Harley feel of the bike) but its cool looking and has lots of attitude!

Congratulations to Pål Anders Ullevålseter who came in 2nd place at the Dakar 2010 rally.
A great achievement from the Norwegian who has been competing in the Dakar rally for 8 years now. The Dakar rally is held in South America and not in Africa due to terror threats.
The riders drive through 9000 km (about 5600 miles) of though terrain in the Atacama Desert. With temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius during the day, this has not been an easy task for the Norwegian. The best part is that Ullevålseter is not a factory rider as the KTM factory thinks he is too old (41 years) to get a contract. Well next year he will hopefully win the race and proof them wrong!

Friday metal is back after a holiday break! Today’s video is from a band called Killswitch Engage. A band that I really like! I think they perform better live than on album. And I have seen them play this great cover song live ;o) This is a classic metal song from the godfather of metal Mr. Ronnie James Dio. Sadly I heard that Dio recently was hospitalized with stomach cancer. Sad news as he is one of the greatest and most genuine heroes of metal.. Ok.. About time to post something here on this fabulous blog! Been busy with the holiday blues the last couple of weeks. I personally think the x-mas holidays has turned into this stupid commercial happening with more or less no reflection on the real reason we celebrate Christmas! Ok I understand that this is a special time for many people and specially children. Which is a good thing.. But remember that the suicide rate in the world goes up during this shopping craze we call Christmas! The less fortunate once in our society that don’t have any family or friends have an extra hard time during x-mas. Remember this when you spend thousands of dollars, yens, euros or kroners on useless things for people that actually don’t need them! In 2005 me and my pal Øystein“Doctor” went to a swap meet in a town called Herning in Denmark. The Herning Stumpmarket (Swap meet) is one of the biggest second hand markets in Scandinavia. Here you can by everything from motorcycle parts to porcelain!
50.000 people attended the market this Saturday in March and it is only for one day.
Afterwards me and Doc where invited to the local Harley-Davidson club for a nice party with live music from the house band and some exiting dancing from a local beauty queen!

Some old pictures from our tour with our bikes from Norway to Iceland in 2001. The rain was pouring down when me and my lovely girlfriend started from Kristiansand and drove to Bergen on the Norwegian west coast. Had to change some gasket’s on the Panhead at a place called Hovden (more about that somewhere else in this Blog:-) Took the ferry to Iceland and drove half way around the island to get to my home town of Mosfellsbær, which is about 440 miles. About 100 miles from home the anchor in the generator on the Panhead short circuited and left my stranded with no battery power. Well knowing that the charging system on old bikes is a weakness I fortunately had an extra battery in the saddlebag. When safely at home, we went to my twin brothers wedding (he is divorced today even thou they used the ’69 FL from the church ;o). The wedding was of course one of the main reasons for the trip.

On the way back to Norway we drove the other way around Iceland (north side) and went back with the ferry to Norway with a tree day stop at the Faroe Islands. Drove around the Faroe Islands (which you can manage, without a problem, in 3 days ;-) The whole trip from approx. 100miles from Reykjavik and home to Kristiansand in Norway (about 2000 miles and 5 days of riding) I drove with 2 extra batteries and had the alarm on 2 times each night to switch over the battery charger so that I would have enough battery power for the next day. Came approximately 100 miles per 8 amp battery without lights (which was a bit scary in all the dark tunnels in Norway;o). The reason for this was that you couldn’t get parts for old Harleys in Iceland without waiting a few weeks! Well I didn’t have time for that ;o)

A little info on Iceland and the Faroe Islands:

The Republic of Iceland is a European island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It has a population of about 310,000 and a total area of 103.000 km² (40.000 miles²) which is slightly smaller than the state of Kentucky. Its capital and largest city is Reykjavík, whose surrounding area is home to some two-thirds of the national population. More ATV blast from the past… The 1990’s has started and the hair is getting longer ;o) Grunch music has taken the world by storm and we have advanced from the little Mojave thumper to more competition style ATV’s with 250cc two-stroke engines. The riding area is still the same in our backyard at home in Iceland. ATV’s where very popular in the 90’s and we started racing them in the Icelandic championship 1991! More from that era later….

Well, I promised that I would post some pictures of my best (and only) friend latest project. He’s the one with the Sporty Chop somewhere else on this blog… This time he started with an aftermarket Softail frame bought on E-Bay. Chopped it and welded in a solid “twisted steel” downtube. Then he bought a pile of new Panhead part from another pal in Iceland and somehow managed to put that together and get it running ;o) Chopped and welded the gas tank. Made the oil tank and fender and so on… Short story long, another true garage build from my friend Sævar. Not bad for a second bike and the first one to be build from scratch. You rule my (only) friend…

Back in 2003 I went on a road-trip on my brother in law’s Shovelhead Chopper. We drove around the west coast of Norway and went to a Harley meeting in a place called Åndalsnes.

A great trip with good friends… The sad part was that it was the last trip I had together with my good friend Egil Røsstad who died of cancer two years later. Well he was alive and well at that time so the memory lives on…

In 1988 me and my twin brother bought our first ATV. ATV’s where getting very popular in Iceland at that time and we wanted in on the fun. ;o) Our first ATV was a 1987 Kawasaki KSF250 Mojave. Rear wheel drive only and 30 something horses. We rode the hell out of it! Because when one was riding the other was waiting.. well you get the picture c”,) We traded what was left off it a year later for a Yamaha YZ 80 motocross bike. The Kawasaki Mojave was produced unchanged from 1987 to 2005.

The year is 1997 and Harley-Davidson Owners Club Norway arranged one of its Summer Rallies for the first time at Ose in Setesdal. There were not so many participants but the Rally was a success. In 2002 the Rally was moved a few miles longer up the valley to a place called Valle. A few snap shots of some of the bikes and people at the rally. In 1994 I went to Norway and Denmark with my bike (a Suzuki Intruder) to visit my brother in Kristiansand and to go to a Pink Floyd concert in Copenhagen. I took the ferry from Iceland to Bergen in Norway, which is a 2 day trip. I rode from Bergen to Kristiansand via a little mountain village called Hovden. At the local (and only) gas station I saw this bike. A nice looking Pan-Shovel. A quick snap shot of the bike and off I went. Well in 2001 I went with my Panhead the same way, but this time to Iceland via Hovden. And I stopped again at the same gas station to fix some oil leak from the push-rod covers on the pan. Well out came a big man with an even bigger smile and asked if I needed some engine oil.. It turns out that he was the manager at the gas station and had a Harley Fat-boy. Well I told him about the nice Pan-Shovel I had seen in 1994 and he told me that it was his and that he had sold it.. Well a short story long, we are good friends today and he still has the Fat-Boy but not the gas station ;-)

It was the third time I went to Landsmót and it was here I made the deal to buy my first Harley, the Sporty I still have.. Nice times in good company ;o)

Many may not know that the Norwegian metal band ”Black Debbath” have been the frontiers of heavy metal here in Norway for the past ten years! They, as the name states, (Debbath means debate) have been singing about government issues and politics, and at the same time seriously taking care of the “little man” and making Norway the best country in the world to live in! At least according to the United Nations selection a few days ago… Here is a song about the how they have more influence here in Norway than any given political party!

Last year we took a trip with H-DOCN (Harley-Davidson Owners Club Norway) to the northern most motorcycle rally in Scandinavia. The tour, which H-DOCN arranged, was called “Norway Run” and started in a tow called Lyngdal almost as far south you can get in Norway. About 15 riders started from Lyngdal and the group got bigger every day, as the group travelled alongside the Norwegian west coast, and was counting 55 bikes when we got to the rally six days and 1600 miles later. The rally, called “Run To The Arctic Fun”, is held the third weekend in July each year. The atmosphere is unique as the sun never sets during the night and the rally site is surrounded by some breathtaking nature. The event takes place at location called “Storfjord” and is approximately 69 degrees north. The rally gathers many people from Finland, and one of the old blokes from Blackout MC had been to the RTTAF on his old Panhead chopper every year since it started 10 years ago. He had also been to 17 Super Rallies on the same Panhead. And for those of you who don’t know, Super Rally is held in a different country in Europe every year! Those fins are some hard boiled crazy fuckers.… And by the way I did NOT tell him that I was driving a borrowed 2000 mod. Ultra and had a Pan at home in the garage.. Go figure ;-)

A few pictures from the 2008 International Rally in Valle Setesdal in the south of Norway. The Rally is held at a beautiful camping place called Flateland. There is usually between 250 and 300 participants at the Rally and it has a nice atmosphere. Live music Friday and Saturday and a road trip on Saturday to the mountain road between Brokke and Suleskar. Even though the Rally is in the middle of June there are usually a few meters high wall of snow along side the mountain road, which only lays a half an hour drive from the Rally site.

In 2004 I went home to Iceland for the president meeting of the Harley-Davidson clubs in Scandinavia. I used the opportunity to go and se one of the events in the Icelandic Enduro championship series. The race was held just outside of a small village called Hella in the south of Iceland. At that time there were only 15 to 20 competitors in the championship. Now days there are more than one hundred competitors and the sport has been growing tremendously for the last five years. Well the financial crisis has struck Iceland hard these days, so the growth will probably not continue at the same rate. Anyway Iceland is the one of the greatest places in the world for Enduro riding!

When they played at Landsmot, which is the main motorcycle rally in Iceland, a few years back. Someone pulled the plug on them, because they thought the band was too loud and the music was too heavy! There was a bike show.. The year is 1993 and I’m only 20 years young, dreaming about having a Harley. In those days there were not so many Harleys in Iceland. (20-30 maybee) The Police had a few and most of the private once where old Police bikes. With a few exceptions. The Ironhead chopper in the picture is actually rebuilt in Iceland that same year. The bike was imported from Sweden a few years earlier with a Honda CB 750 engine in it. The Pink FLH is not a Police bike either. The bike came to Iceland when it was new and it was originally pink & white (got to love the sixties ;o). The person, who owns it today, saw the bike when it was standing at the Reykjavik harbour in 1969. He, at a fairly young age, decided that this was the bike to have! A few years later he bought the bike and had it for a few years before he sold it. Well, as we all know, motorcycles should not be sold only bought! So he had his regrets and after many years he found the bike again in rather poor condition. After 6 long years of restoring every single part, the bike finally looked the same as it did when it came out of the factory (or even nicer)! He still owns the bike today and it’s still in mint condition! The Henderson is another story. That bike was found buried in the ground. The bike was imported to Iceland in 1918 by Espholin Co. which was the Henderson dealer in Iceland at that time. The bike was registered until 1938 and found again in the early 90s. The photo of Ingólfur Esphólín on the Henderson is from the book “Þá riðu hetjur um héruð” The history of motorcycles in Iceland.

Just got back from a few hours ride on my brothers 2008 Night Rod Special. I have never ridden a bike from the V-Rod family before. Sounds strange but true anyhow ;o) The Night Rod Special has a 1250cc (Porsche) engine and a 250 rear tire. I have always said that Americans are good at making things that should go straight ahead.. That is also the case with the Night Rod. The power is good and the brakes are good but the handling is not! This is most likely because of the wide rear tire and fairly long wheelbase. Anyway a fun bike to ride but not the bike I would buy. Another ting I noticed is the poor quality of the Milwaukee horse.. (Not that it’s made there! More Japanese and European parts on this thing than American I suppose) Harley has not come far when it comes to quality of their product. This bike has always been stored in a garage and has only 2000 miles on it, and already all the nuts, bolts, brake rotors and outer races of the wheel bearings are rusted, and one of the signal light glasses fell off during the trip!! Get your act together Bill!!

In 2003 I went to a museum in Denmark at a place called Egeskov. The museum is private and is situated in several barns around Egeskov castle which dates from 1554 and is now owned by Count Michael Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille the 11. generation of Ahlefeldt-Laurvig-Bille to own the castle. The museum dates from 1967 and has one of Europes biggest collections of motorized vehicles. I liked the ceiling area best where they store all the things not restored yeat. John ”Jonna” Lillegård is, with out a doubt, the godfather of the chopper culture here in Norway. The last 8-9 years I have had the pleasure of being able to call him my friend ;o) The man is a wandering history of the Scandinavian chopper culture. He started his chopper carear in Carolina MC Sweden in the seventies. In 1979 he started Carolina MC in Oslo (capitol of Norway) later they chanced their name to Customizers MC. In 1983 Customizers MC dissolved in to 2 clubs, Rabies MC and Company MC which is the club Jonna rides with today. The bike he rides is a 1952 hardtail with a 1340cc Evolution engine. Jonna ordered the engine from the Factory in August 1983. The springer forks are designed by Jonna and build by Calles in Sweden. They are 29,5 inches over stock.
A true chopper hero in my books!!

Well the weekend is over and I’m home after some 1300 miles (2100km) in the saddle..
On Friday it was a quick stop at “The Farm” and Lucifer MC autumn party. On Saturday it was my birthday and the most important day (to date) for the bike & car building community here in Norway. There we laid down the lines for saving the future for our precious hobby which includes cutting up cars and bikes! Our organisation from 1981 NFSOK (which stands for something like “Norwegian organisation for special and customised vehicles”) is now reborn and has a board of members and an agenda for the future.. EU here we come ;o)

In 2003 my good friend Sævar from Iceland came to visit me when I was living in Trondheim, the biker capitol of Norway. I had found a bike for him in that needed some love and caring. The bike was an ’86 Sportster 883 that had been chopped a few years earlier, and had been standing inside a mountain since then.

He bought the bike and the first thing we did was to get it up to 1200cc. The bike had a Calles frame and Tolle front end with an 18 inch wheel in the front and 15” in the back. Not a bad thing to start with. Back in Iceland he used the bike during the summer and in the wintertime he did some adjustments to the bike. New rear wheel with fender & sissy. A new homemade oil bag and a “first timer” airbrush paint job.
Next winter the bike was back on the table and this time it was the front end that was swapped for a brand new Springer (of course ;-). The paintbrush got filled with some fresh new paint for the new stripes and he even made a new seat for it, leather work and all. Nice work bro! A true garage build.. He has now sold the sporty and has built himself a nice Panhead Softail.. More on that project later.

My friend Helge bought an eighties style chopper last spring. The motor was fuckt up and the bike was in poor condition. This winter we swapped the motor and tranny out with a 1953 Panhead driveline and the front end with a 16” over Springer. A paintjob and some small adjustments later it stands tall and proud... I think it turned out nice.. Happy days Helge ;o)

When living in Norway and having all that nature around you, which in my case is right at my doorstep, you would think that riding off road bikes and other motorized transportation in the forest and hills is natural and accepted.. Well it’s not! The Norwegian government has set the standard for riding “off-Road”! It’s illegal no matter what, everywhere, anytime! And the fines for riding in nature are higher than for pushing drugs on teenagers! Go figure… Anyhow when the rules get to strict and don’t make any sense, we people tend to take matters in our own hands and act according to our own common sense. That’s why me and my riding buddies use the nature as we see fit. We do not bother anyone and certainly have respect for the wildlife. We do don’t disturb animals when riding bikes or snowmobiles!
