Weekend Warriors...

Well the weekend is over and I’m home after some 1300 miles (2100km) in the saddle..
On Friday it was a quick stop at “The Farm” and Lucifer MC autumn party. On Saturday it was my birthday and the most important day (to date) for the bike & car building community here in Norway. There we laid down the lines for saving the future for our precious hobby which includes cutting up cars and bikes! Our organisation from 1981 NFSOK (which stands for something like “Norwegian organisation for special and customised vehicles”) is now reborn and has a board of members and an agenda for the future.. EU here we come ;o)

Color dice..

This is my tribute to the colouring of the cover for the 25th issue of Dice Magazine.. It didn't make it to their homepage so here it is ;o) Dice mag is the best!

Wedding picture...

Once in a while ordinary people like to use us bikers as addition, our flavour if you like, to their everyday normal life. In this picture the couple that got married came to our international Rally in Valle, Norway to borrow a bike and a biker for their wedding shot.. I think it turned out just fine..

Icelandic love affair..

In 2003 my good friend Sævar from Iceland came to visit me when I was living in Trondheim, the biker capitol of Norway. I had found a bike for him in that needed some love and caring. The bike was an ’86 Sportster 883 that had been chopped a few years earlier, and had been standing inside a mountain since then.
He bought the bike and the first thing we did was to get it up to 1200cc. The bike had a Calles frame and Tolle front end with an 18 inch wheel in the front and 15” in the back. Not a bad thing to start with. Back in Iceland he used the bike during the summer and in the wintertime he did some adjustments to the bike. New rear wheel with fender & sissy. A new homemade oil bag and a “first timer” airbrush paint job.
Next winter the bike was back on the table and this time it was the front end that was swapped for a brand new Springer (of course ;-). The paintbrush got filled with some fresh new paint for the new stripes and he even made a new seat for it, leather work and all. Nice work bro! A true garage build.. He has now sold the sporty and has built himself a nice Panhead Softail.. More on that project later.

Home Run...

High in the sky and down below...

A joyful event at Lunde airfield, in the heart of Telemark Norway. Come by plane, car, truck, tractor or bike.. Who cares as long as you are there and having fun ;o) Pictures from the 2008 event.. Enjoy!

Makover...

My friend Helge bought an eighties style chopper last spring. The motor was fuckt up and the bike was in poor condition. This winter we swapped the motor and tranny out with a 1953 Panhead driveline and the front end with a 16” over Springer. A paintjob and some small adjustments later it stands tall and proud... I think it turned out nice.. Happy days Helge ;o)

Winter Riding..

When living in Norway and having all that nature around you, which in my case is right at my doorstep, you would think that riding off road bikes and other motorized transportation in the forest and hills is natural and accepted.. Well it’s not! The Norwegian government has set the standard for riding “off-Road”! It’s illegal no matter what, everywhere, anytime! And the fines for riding in nature are higher than for pushing drugs on teenagers! Go figure… Anyhow when the rules get to strict and don’t make any sense, we people tend to take matters in our own hands and act according to our own common sense. That’s why me and my riding buddies use the nature as we see fit. We do not bother anyone and certainly have respect for the wildlife. We do don’t disturb animals when riding bikes or snowmobiles! Lots of people think we do and usually the same people are the once who kill the animals when they get the chance to take at trip in the forest! Go figure again…

A-Bombers Old Style Weekend...

What can I say?! A-Bombers Old Style Weekend is one of, if not, the greatest events I have ever been to! The vehicles, people and atmosphere is unique.. The fifties all over again..
The event takes place at old military storage facilities in Backamo just outside Uddevalla in Sweden. For fourteen years the car & motorcycle club A-Bombers have been arranging this event. In the inner circle, or main site if you like, the age limit for cars and bikes is 1956 and older! That sets the standard for the area and the atmosphere.. The ongoing music with a rockabilly flare doesn’t make it any less authentic! On Saturday some of the bikes and cars have the chance to participate in an old style hill climb race at Devils Peak. This gathers hundreds or even thousands of spectators in the hills of Uddevalla.
More pictures to come as I went amok with the camera ;o)

Blast from a resent past ;o)

Maybe it’s about time to post some pictures from the resent past… as in this year ;-) In June, me and my lovely girlfriend Peggy went (for the first time and definitely not the last) to the 35. annual Custom Bike Show in the town of Norrtälje in Sweden. The quality of the bikes on display was breathtaking and I personally liked the bikes from Finland. They think outside of the box and are not so stuck in the brand of bike or a certain style of bike. They reuse old parts, stock parts and just about anything they can get their hands on… Respect!

Always hard...

The annual ”Kuk i Odalen” (which means ”dick in Ovalley”) is a small motorcycle event held by Nord Odal MC in the deep woods of eastern Norway. Not the biggest Rally in Norway but defiantly one of the nicest! At night there’s live music in the clubhouse which is an old barn. Pictures from the 2005 event.
This July the club sadly lost one of their members in a motorcycle accident. The deep woods of Norway have many moose’s and Dag did not survive the crash with the king of the forest on his wife’s Electra. Our thoughts go to his family and friends. R.I.P

Wintersports...

In January 2004 I got invited by some friends from Survival MC in Sweden to an Ice racing event in Östersund.
Ice racing is much like Speedway racing only on ice. The bikes use one cylinder 500cc Jawa four stroke engines which deliver up to 70 horsepower. The tires on the bikes are equipped with spikes that are 28 millimetres long.Conny from Survival MC Östersund was one of the riders attending the race in the 2004 season. More info about Survival MC you can find here: http://www.survivalmc.com/

What can I say? Choppers Rule!
